Why buy seasonal fish?
We are often led to believe that fish is available all year round, on demand, which it is. However, fish is best bought when in season as it is in excellent condition with maximum flesh yield.
Conditions for seasonal fish
Some fish are not native to the UK waters and migrate here during the year. This means that Great Britain enjoys an abundance of variety with over 31 species and hundreds of sub species of fish. Seasons, weather conditions, fluctuations in tides – these all have an impact on the fish that visit our waters.
